Technical Manager – Risk Management

ROLE OBJECTIVE

The incumbent will be responsible for developing collateral acceptance guidelines and collateral reviews/approvals of southern markets, and respective system development (automation), monitoring HPA, liaison with lender’s technical team & external vendor, monthly analysis work- collateral portfolio, deviation analysis, rejection analysis etc.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify, empanel, and handle external technical agency
• Manage property & project valuation (including periodic audit exercise)
• Do periodic or trigger-based review of technical agencies
• Monitor HPA, prepare and present detailed analysis of real estate on periodic basis
• Conduct collateral visits, if required, to resolve discrepancies raised in the valuation reports, control vendor quality and to advise on the collateral acceptance
• Liaison with lender’s technical managers, their valuers, Government Bodies / Authorities, and other stakeholders
• Collateral portfolio Analysis works- including collateral portfolio monitoring, deviation analysis, rejection data analysis
• Create & timely update location / hub specific technical policy based on local byelaws & practices

SKILLS

Domain/Technical Knowledge

• At least 6 years working experience with HFC / Bank in real estate verification/valuations
• Basic knowledge of mortgage lending viz. technical (valuations & building bye law compliance) & legal (mortgage creation / title documentation)
• Experience in risk mgmt.; policy, data interpretation and reporting would be an added advantage

• Desire & attitude for understanding of real estate is essential
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing clear and crisp policy, preparing presentation and verbal communications to technical & non-technical stakeholders
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
• Proven time management proficiency
• High energy levels, “Can Do” attitude and works well under pressure to meet deadlines
• Proven ability to work in teams and manage projects and deliver business results in a rapidly changing and cross-functional matrix environment
• Resourceful, pragmatic and realistic approach to analysis with limited data and time
• Should be open to frequent travel

EDUCATION

Candidate must be a person with Civil Engineering (B.Tech)/ Architecture background

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 6 years working with mortgage lending & retail lending institution. Worked as technical/valuation specialist.
